Well I think your pictures have presence that persists. Maybe the girl has colourful scales that help her breath and take energy from the sun. The eyes are especially good.
The image is flat. Nothing is happening. The wings are good but the horns are lop-sided. I prefer your sloth.

But seriously I think you should start colouring these drawings in photoshop or redrawing in illustrator/flash.
